Abstract

Translation of Quran is one of the most important effort done by Islamic scholars. It has been done in many languages. The Holy Quran was translated first in Latin language, then French and then English. Urdu language came into existence six centuries before. Shah Rafee ul Din was first who translated the Quran in Urdu in 1200 A.H. then his small brother Shah Abdul Qadir translated the Quran. Allah Almighty elected Hazrat Shah Abdul Qadir Dehlvi to translate the Holy Quran in Urdu and he translated the Quran in Urdu and named it as “Muwazzih.e.Quran”. Urdu translation of Quran was a big effort at that time. Shah Abdul Qadir translated the Quran in the way that he used complicated Hindi and Sanskrit words in many places. It seems that he translated according to the specific Hindi tribe language. However, his translation was a big effort and huge asset for Ummat.e.Muslima at that time. Afterwards, his elder brother Shah Rafee
ud Din translated the Quran in simple way that everyone can easily understand.
